Our Company

XBlox Trade and Manufacturing CC was founded in 2005.

Motivated by the high cost of IT resources in Europe, Symbitec speculated that it might be beneficial to subcontract European IT projects to other countries. South Africa was seen as the ideal location for this venture. Various factors contributed to their choice of country, including South Africa's strong historical ties with the Netherlands, the small language barrier, the virtually non-existent time difference with the European continent, as well as the high degree of IT knowledge within this country.

Virtually within a couple of months after the idea arose, the wheel was on the roll, and a couple of ambitious university students became the first employees of XBlox. Since these humble beginnings XBlox has established itself as a young, dynamic software company that specialises in the following areas:

These core disciplines ensure that XBlox will continue to provide both the South African and European markets with high quality products and services.

Our Logo

The XBlox logo is comprised of two aspects, namely the XBlox name itself and the recurring three arrows, based on 'Ourorboros'.

The 'XBlox' aspect

The 'XBlox' aspect refers to the fact that we develop our software whilst keeping future re-use in mind. Our applications are therefore developed from several components or building blocks, hence the inclusion of 'Blox' in our name.

The 'Ouroboros' aspect

The 'Ourorobos' principle refers to the never ending cycle of re-development, re-use and re-deployment of resources. This concept forms the major underlying philosophy of XBlox.
